Christine Y. (Garland) Bailey passed away on May 17, 2025, at IU West Hospital. Chris was born to Floyd and Loretta (Smith) Garland on November 3, 1957. Chris was in the first graduating class at the new Tri-West High School. On February 18, 1978, she married Clint Bailey. They were blessed with a son, Dustin, and then a granddaughter, Anastasia.
Chris had several jobs during her life. Two of her favorites were being a Lizton postal carrier and being a 911 dispatcher for Hendricks County. Chris enjoyed being outdoors in the yard working with her flowers and feeding the birds. She especially enjoyed the monthly lunch and card playing with her aunts.
She is survived by her husband, Clint; son, Dustin (Andrea); granddaughter, Anastasia (Ian); brother, Tim (Judy) Garland; and parents, Floyd and Loretta. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Garland, and her grandparents, Elmer and Bessie Smith and Ed and Effie Garland.
Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana, on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 11am to 12pm, with the funeral service beginning at 12pm. Chris will be laid to rest in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana, following the funeral service.
