Christine Reed Curtis was born on February 24, 1940, to Carl Reed, Jr and Ruby Ross in Start, Louisiana. Christine completed her journey here on earth on July 18, 2023, in Houston, Texas to begin her new journey in Heaven.
Christine was the third child of thirteen children born to Carl Reed, Jr and Ruby Ross. Christine was baptized at Pleasant Grove #2 Baptist Church in Nelson Bend. The church was a major part of Christine's life and her faith brought comfort during her illness. Christine graduated from Eula D. Britton High School in Rayville, Louisiana in 1958. Christine moved to Seattle, Washington at the age of 19, and worked for the telephone company. Christine eventually made her way to California and lived in the Los Angeles area. Christine completed the necessary requirements to become a Registered Nurse while living in California. Christine always knew what she wanted in life and lived her life on her terms.
Christine loved listening to gospel music and one of her favorite words was Hallelujah.
Christine survived by brothers Robert-California, George-Houston and Gary (Carolyn)-Houston. Sisters
Ruby Jewel-Rayville, Faye-Arizona, and Melba-Rayville.
Christine was preceded in death by her father and mother, her oldest sister-Gladys, oldest brother-Bishop, younger sisters Bunnestine, Katherine and Bertha and younger brother James and former husband Ronald Curtis.
Christine leaves her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and host of friends to remember and celebrate her life.
