Christine Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hobbs Funeral Home - South Portland on Mar. 3, 2026.
Christine "Chris" M. Davis, 60, of South Portland passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026 after a short and courageous battle with gallbladder cancer while surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to her. She was born in Portland on June 17, 1965, daughter to the late Franklin Rodney and Marion Louise (Flynn) Nadeau.

Chris was one of those rare souls who made a lasting impact simply by being herself. A true hippie flower child at heart, she believed in peace, love, music, and human connection. Radiant, resilient, adventurous, clever, and deeply compassionate, she brought light into every room she entered. Her beautiful smile, quick wit, and fun-loving spirit made even the most ordinary moments unforgettable.

Beneath that free spirit was a fierce protector. Chris showed up - always. She stood firmly beside the people she loved through life's storms and fought hard for them without hesitation. She had a gift for making each person feel special, seen, and deeply valued. Loving people wasn't something she did casually; it was something she did wholeheartedly.

Chris worked as a Senior Finance Accountant at CRE Management, LLC, where she was a valued and respected member of the team.

Her colleagues shared: "Chris was a valued member of our team and her loss will be deeply felt. During her time with us, she brought dedication, professionalism, and care to her work and to those around her. She will be greatly missed."

Her supervisor, Kristin Bell, reflected: "Chris was truly one of those rare people who made a lasting impact just by being herself. She worked hard, gave her all every single day, and cared deeply about the people around her - especially her friends and family, who meant everything to her. At CRE Management we appreciated her dedication, but even more, we were grateful for the chance to know her. She truly made a difference. It was a privilege to have her on our team and in our lives."

To her family, Chris was a guiding light. She had a quiet way of allowing those she loved to find their own path, gently stepping in when the road became difficult. Daryl noted that she somehow "filled her plate" with more than most could carry, managing life's challenges with strength and grace.

To Tristan, she was unconditional love personified - truly one of one.

To her niece MJ, "Chrissy" was generosity and kindness in human form, so much like her mother. Their annual "tax time" conversations - even when there were no questions to ask - became a cherished tradition. April 14th will forever hold special meaning.

Chris believed deeply in being a true friend. As Dawn so beautifully said, Christine was living proof that strangers are just friends we haven't met yet. She had the kind of smile that could light up an entire room. The moment she walked in - no matter who you were or how you were feeling - she wrapped you in a hug that made you feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Her friendships were filled with laughter and stories that will be told for decades. Laura remembers that Chris was always just a little late - taking extra time getting ready, making them both late for work, roller skating on the weekends, and ensuring her hair was just right. There was dancing in the bedroom, playing Bob Seger on repeat, and sipping Disaronno by the fire.

Music was woven into the fabric of her life. Tish remembers singing along at a John Fogerty concert and the many other shows they shared. Chris especially loved seeing her brother Nelson play throughout the year. Patty and Laura fondly recall watching Nelson's band practice at the house - music filling the rooms, laughter never far behind.

She showed up in both big and quiet ways. Cindy shared that when her father passed away, the closing for the sale of his home happened to be at Chris's office. Walking in and seeing Chris there to greet her made an incredibly difficult day just a little bit easier. That was Chris - steady, present, and exactly where you needed her to be. She loved travel, a good party, dancing, music, fruity cocktails, Diet Pepsi, boat rides, camp, animals, and above all, her family and friends. She lived boldly, loved fiercely, and protected the people in her life with everything she had.

Patty shared that Chris was incredibly proud of her sons and loved them with all of her being. Not having her in our lives has left a tremendous hole in our hearts. We already miss her Facebook posts, her random texts, and the comfort of knowing she was just a phone call away. The thought of never seeing her again is devastating. Even in our heartbreak, we are grateful she is no longer in pain and is reunited in heaven with her mother, father, and Frankie.

From her sister Darlene: Because of the nearly nineteen years between us, I did not grow up with my sister - I grew old with her. Our mom used to say about her girls, "I had one to grow up with and one to grow old with." I always called Chris "Sister Dear," and that she truly was.

When our mom passed away, her wish was that Chris take care of our brother Frankie. She treated him like one of her own sons, even though he was two years older. Anyone who knew Frankie understands the devotion Chris had for him and the countless hours she spent tending to his special needs while still caring for the rest of her family.

After our mom died, we began taking turns hosting Christmas Eve gatherings. In recent years we often gathered at Chris's home - the largest, newly renovated and filled with her signature hippie touches. My brothers and I will continue to carry forward the deep love she gave to all of us.

Her loss leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved her, but her legacy of strength, compassion, resilience, and unwavering love will continue to guide and inspire. Like a sunflower turning faithfully toward the light, Chris always faced the sun - and encouraged the rest of us to do the same.

Christine is survived by her husband, Scott Davis; sons, Daryl Blaisdell, Alex Blaisdell (Anne Moon) and Tristan Cox; grandchildren, Candace Moon, Aithne and Lessa Brundige, Claire, Louis and Henry Chartier; stepson, Christopher Davis; stepdaughter, Amanda Chartier (Geoff); brothers, Michael Nadeau and Nelson Nadeau (Pat); sister dear, Darlene Junkins; nieces, MJ (William), Tracy and Karen Junkins, Grace and Aislynn Fenton; nephews, Miguale Nadeau (Britt) and Jeffrey Junkins (Lindsay); honorary family members Laura Casparius (Thelma) and Princess Patty Hatt and cherished pets Ginger the dog and Oreo the cat . She was predeceased by her brother Frankie Nadeau; sister-in-law, Lisa Nadeau and brother-in-law, Gordon Junkins.

Visitation will be held on March 7th from 10am-11am with a Funeral Service at 11am followed by a Reception from 12pm-1pm at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.

In celebration of her vibrant, free-spirited soul, guests are invited to honor Chris by wearing their best hippie attire - a colorful tribute she would have wholeheartedly loved.
