Graveside services for Mary Christine Erwin, 76, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Woodside Cemetery, with Bro. Don Kirkpatrick officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.

Mary Christine Erwin, better known as Christine, slipped away peacefully on August 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Christine was a Christmas present to her parents, Oble Grady & Ethel Milliorn Fowler, having been born on Christmas Day in 1948, but she never complained about not having a “separate” day for her birthday or over the scarcity of gifts.

She worked in several sewing factories before going to Morton Salt Co, where she retired after over 20 years of service. She and Jerry married on May 13, 1989, and enjoyed growing their garden and watching their cows.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; O.G. & Ethel Fowler; three sisters, Glenda Williams, Joye Craft Jarrett, and Dovie Jones; one brother, Eugene Fowler; and one stepdaughter, Patsy Erwin.

She leaves behind her husband of 36 years, Jerry of Silver Lake; daughter, Janice Colegrove of Grand Saline; sons, Dewey Fowler and wife Joletta of Mineola, and Howard Fowler and wife Tiffany of Lindale; stepdaughter, Brenda Erwin Scott and husband Doug of Silver Lake; stepson, Tommy Erwin of Silver Lake; seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren; one sister, Esta Adley of Grand Saline; two brothers, Jerry Pat Fowler of Grand Saline, and Robin Fowler of Fruitvale.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday morning from 10 a.m.- 10:45 a.m..
