Services for Mr. Rodney Dwaine Brumit, 80, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Robert Cook officiating.

Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Grand Saline.

Mr. Brumit passed away August 31, 2025, in Canton. He was born July 16, 1945, in Celeste, to Travis Oliver & Susie Jane Lemons Brumit. He graduated from Lone Oak High School, Class of 1963, where he lived most of his life. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and worked as Director of Transportation for Lone Oak ISD. He married Peggy Ivy on July 19, 2007, and they made their home in Grand Saline where he attended Roundflat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl Lynn Brumit, James William Brumit, and Travis Oliver Brumit; four sisters, Travis Leota Williams, Virginia Ruth Kammerer, Winnie Diane Jennings, and Sue Ann Holland; grandson, Travis Brumit; and stepson, Jonathan Carnes.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Ivy Brumit of Grand Saline; three sons, Timmy Brumit and wife Lora of Greenville, Scott Brumit and wife Nancy of Point, and Jeremiah Carnes and wife Eva of Van; sister, Elaine Couch and husband Reagan of Hermiston, OR; fifteen grandchildren, Chad Brumit, Chasity Gibson, Annie Northcutt, Hunter Brumit, Garrett Brumit, Jonathan Northcutt, Morgan Brumit, Sophia Brumit, Jake Minze, Caleb Manshack, Josh Manshack, Shayne Carnes, Hannah Wolf, Heather Blunt, and Becky Cason; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chad Brumit, Hunter Brumit, Garrett Brumit, Jonathan Northcutt, Gage Brumit, and Kenny Hunt.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Bartley Funeral Home in Lone Oak. ( Please notice that visitation and the service are at different locations.)
