Christine Edith Farone (Kowalski), 81, of Rotterdam Junction, NY passed away after a brief illness on September 19, 2022 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady with her loving family at her side.Christine was born on September 28, 1940, the daughter of the late Boleslaw and Frances Kowalski of Minaville. She was a graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School Class of 1958, and worked at BDS Corporation, a subsidiary of General Electric, before retiring in 1997.Above all else, Christine was immeasurably devoted to her family. She married her husband of over 55 years, Albert A. "Al" Farone on May 20, 1967. Christine was the beloved mother of Albert A. "Tony" (Candace) Farone, Jr. and proud grandmother of Nicholas "Nick" Farone, all of Rotterdam Junction. She also enjoyed a close relationship with her sister, Sandra "Ciotka" (James) Kunz of Amsterdam.Christine, Al and Tony started their family business, Tony's Concessions in 1981. They worked side-by-side over the next four decades, with Christine affectionately known as "the General". Christine had also been a member of the Valley Sport Riders snowmobile club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pattersonville Fire Department. She was an avid race car fan, enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband in her younger years and loved visiting the ocean in Maine with her cherished family. She will be greatly missed.Relatives and friends may call at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1414 State Highway Rt. 5S, Amsterdam on Friday, September 23rd from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Juanito Asperec officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.Contributions may be made in Christine's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org or by mail to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.FUNERAL HOME
