Christine Kay Papineau - a beautiful, whip-smart, fun-loving Mom, Sister, and life-long friend to so many - passed away August 20, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Born on August 18, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Christine spent her childhood enjoying endless summers at Hubbard Lake. Her favorite early memories were at the lakeshore with her family, and her favorite animal friends - which included a spider monkey, Willie, and a wild fox, who she named “Chester”, rescued from a hunter’s trap.

After a long career as an administrative assistant at AMA/ESD (Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District), Christine retired and found her new passion as a humble Queen of Euchre Scene, at Joe’s Bar on the Northside.

Christine will be forever missed, and honored, by her two children, Kelly O’Neil and Travis Torsch; her brother, Dan Papineau, and her best friend and best sister, Roach; as well as her niece, Nikki, and nephews, Rodney and Kristoffer. She was preceded in death by her Mother Florence, Aunt June, and her Grandmom, Ingrid.

She was truly one-of-a-kind. She will be missed by all.

A.E. Ross Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
