Christine H. Pownell

Christine H. (Warner) Pownell, age 78, of Jefferson, passed away at Yorkview Nursing & Rehabilitation in York on November 4, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Gary W. Pownell who passed away on February 17, 2013; together they shared 45 years of marriage.
Christine was born in Rome, NY on November 8, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Addison Warner, Jr. and Harriett (Ritter) Warner. She worked as a CNA and unit secretary and ultimately retired from Manor Care North Nursing Home. Christine also enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.
Christine is survived by her children Paul Pownell and wife Rae Ann and Julie Cox and husband Brian; her significant other Sam Therit; her grandchildren Jennah Pownell and fiancé John Hersh, Gary Pownell, Kameron Cox, and Kierstyn Cox; and one great-grandson Wesley Hersh. She is also survived by her siblings Carolyn Dean, Addison Warner IV, Deborah Rogers, Bonnie West, Richard Warner, and Brenda Portner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
