Christopher Ryan Andrews, age 47, passed away on April 29, 2024. He was born in Southfield, Michigan on March 1, 1977 to his parents, Mary (née Gruber) and Robert Andrews. He is the cherished son of Mary (Bill) Roy and Robert (Julie Fleury) Andrews; dearest brother of Michael (Kelly) Andrews and step-brother of Jean Asadoorian and Michelle (Jason) Madge; proud uncle of Sydney Andrews, Tyler Andrews, Mason Asadoorian, Avery Madge and Ethan Madge; loving cousin to Susan Linney (Andy Kropa).
Chris grew up in Westland, MI and graduated from John Glenn High School (1995) and from the University of Michigan Dearborn (2001) where he earned his Bachelors Degree. After college he lived in Dearborn and worked at Ford Motor Company in Materials Planning and Logistics as a Product Definition Sr. Specialist for many years and most recently in Product Development Operations and Quality as a Core Program Management Analyst.
Outside of work, he often got together with his childhood friends and family. Other interests included attending opening day Lions games, playing poker, joining weekly Wednesday TV/Movie and Thursday Trivia Nights. On a nice day he could be found taking his 2014 Mustang GT out for a drive.
Chris participated in multiple Fantasy Football leagues. He was most proud of his Fantasy Football team “The Raiders of the Lost Shellacking” who were league champions before his (older) brother’s team. He was not shy about letting people know of that accomplishment.
Chris had an immense interest in all aspects of life especially music and movies. These interests along with his zest for adventure led him to travel the country to attend concerts, explore unfamiliar cities, attend events like the total eclipse in Nebraska in 2017, and the premiere showings of movies at Emagine with friends and family. He especially loved seeing Bob Dylan and Tom Petty in concert.
He was a great cat dad to his cats Brutus and Bijou. As they aged, he nursed them through various health issues including daily IV fluids and insulin injections. Recently, he was a special friend and cat sitter for Ziggy, Mary and Bill’s cat.
Chris was always an optimist who spread positivity and leaves behind a legacy of much love. He was affectionally known as The Funcle and Uncle Christmas since he didn’t have children of his own, but loved spending time with and spoiling his Nieces and Nephews year-round.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held in June with details announced at a later date.
