Christopher Austin Obituary
Christopher James Austin, 54, of Belmont, passed away March 25, 2021 peacefully at his residence. He was born on April 30, 1966 to the late Gene and Joyce Fowler Austin. Chris was a 3rd Degree Mason at the West Gate Masonic Lodge #738 A.F & A.M. He was a gentle giant who loved his family and his friends; enjoyed fishing, golf, cooking, camping, and 4-wheeling. He graduated from West Meck High School. He was a brick mason and was known for his beautiful stone work. He was a very kind and funny guy. Chris was known by many as "Q-Tip." He will always be remembered by everyone who was blessed to have known him.
Survivors include his life partner, Audrey Fogarty; son, Tristin Fogarty; brothers, Mark Austin and Richard Austin and wife Patsy; and sister, Tamala "Tammy" McLaughlin and husband Tracy.
A Memorial service will be held by the family on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at The Metrolina Shrine Club, 5930 Brookshire Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28216. Food will be provided by the Shriners.
