Christopher "Chris" L. Barr, age 41, passed away with family at his side on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Funeral Services will be held privately for his family, please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sharp Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Online condolences can be shared to Christopher's obituary page by visiting, www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
Chris was born on June 17, 1983, in Flint, Michigan to Dennis & Norma Barr. He attended Swartz Creek High School and graduated class of 2002. He furthered his education at the University of Michigan. Chris was gifted with a "mechanical mind", he was able to fix just about anything. He naturally questioned how things worked and would completely and whole heartedly research that particular item, so he understood it completely. One of these such things was the weather; in fact, he became the "family weatherman" and his family in Florida could expect updates on any storm fronts expected their way. In recent years he got rather comfortable with the peace and quiet his home offered. He liked to watch the birds, set on the back porch enjoying nature and helping family with yard work. He particularly liked to mow the grass. Sometimes he enjoyed a good video game and other times he wanted to research information and learn. During football or baseball season his family would hear yelling from the living room as Chris "affectionately" followed the Tigers and Wolverines. Though Chris had no children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. His family will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis (Norma) Barr; his three siblings, Jason (Lindsay) Barr, Jennifer (Robert) Allison and Kaitlin (fiancé Andrew Sunde) Barr; nieces and nephews, Isabella, Taylor, Connor, Gavin, Samuel and Bennett. He is further survived by many other dear family members and fur babies, Ellie Mae and Boomer.
Chris's family would like to thank the staff especially the nurses of the ICU at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
