Christopher John Bednark, age 71, of Millersburg, was called Home to be with our Lord on Friday, July 25, 2025. While he will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia Anne (Wait), and three children, Carl Vernon, Joseph Anthony, and Bridget Anne, their hopes of eternal peace and the opportunity to reunite with him when that becomes God's will, provides a patience that allows for the celebration of his time on earth.
Growing up in Metro Detroit, Chris is the son of the late Vernon Gregory Bednark and Mildred Helen (Wilkie). He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary, and brothers, James and Gregory, while surviving brothers, Raymond and Stephen, praise God for their time with their brother, Chris.
Like our Lord Jesus, Chris was a carpenter by trade. His attention to detail, however, carried far beyond his craft, translating into his personal life where he gave himself to the betterment of others.
Chris made every effort to visit those he held dear, including his six grandchildren, Aurora, Carson, Hannah, Hallie, Charles, and Genevieve. He now smiles down on us, watching us grow, and providing spiritual blessings to his beloved family and friends.
The Knights of Columbus will lead a rosary at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church to be followed by the funeral mass for Chris beginning at 4:30 PM. Father Don Geyman will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Ocqueoc.
