A Memorial Service for Christopher Lee "Tipper"Campbell, age 35, of Lineville, Alabama, will be held at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Sunday afternoon May 18 at 3:00 PM. The service will be preceded at 2:00 PM by a time of visitation for friends and family at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Campbell died on May 15 in Lineville.
He was a native of West Palm Beach, Florida, and had moved to Clay County as a teenager. He attended Lineville High School.
Chris was employed as a mechanic and had worked for a number of different companies. He was very skillful in the field of mechanics, especially diesel mechanics. He could fix practically anything that was broken.
He had developed a keen interest in collecting Pokémon cards and found some lucrative opportunities to trade them for profit.
His family would want you to know that Chris was always quite "a handful".
Christopher is survived by his wife of 10 years, Haedyn Whatley Campbell, his daughter and the light of his life, Ensleigh Claire Riley Campbell, and his stepson, Parker Jackson Whatley Adair.
He is also survived by his mother, Cindy Riley of Lineville, two sisters, Mariah "Murray" Nicolle Benson-Campbell (wife Shelby Benson-Campbell) of Clifton Park, New York, and Chelsea Wooten of Lineville, a brother, Alex Benitez (fiancé Katie) of Lineville, Alabama, and a niece, Brinley Wooten of Lineville, who loved her Uncle Tipper dearly.
Chris had a deep and strong love for his family. His devotion and love was especially expressed in his care and devotion to his younger brother Alex, or "Booger" as known to all. Chris had both a brotherly and a fatherly love for Booger, and they spent many happy hours together, usually getting into some sort of trouble. Chris also had an affection for dogs of all kinds, but especially for the Staffordshire Bull Terrier he named Fat Boy, who sadly had passed recently.
Chis traveled a long and sometimes difficult journey. In recent days it had led him to seek out the God who created him. All his loved ones rejoice today that Chris had realized that he, like us all, must have Jesus Christ in his life and he accepted, with tears and rejoicing, His offer of saving grace. Chris happily shared his decision with others, and he would want you to be comforted by the certainty that when he left this life, he began immediately his new life with Jesus.
The family will accept floral contributions, but donations to The American Red Cross at https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation.html are preferred. This organization blessed the Campbell family greatly at a time of loss.
