Christopher William "Chris" Cargill

Christopher "Chris" W. Cargill passed on November 13th, 2025. His parents Thomas and Mary Jane Cargill preceded him in death, and will be missed, as well.

Christopher is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Sherry; close family Jim (Lori) Cargill, George (Sandy) Cargill, Paula Phibbs, DonnaJean Ragozzine and extended family; Robert Kramer, Frank (MaryAnn) Kramer, and Paula Davis.

Christopher completed his Eagle Scout training in his early youth. He attended high school, alongside his wife Sherry which was unknown to either of them for a time. In the summer of 1976, their relationship began on a family and friends camping/skiing outing at the Shenango Dam, in Hermitage PA. As friends they found trust, understanding, and equal appreciation in each other. Although they were attending the event as friends, it was here that their true love began to materialize. As subtle as their relationship formed, his proposal followed that same easy-going simplicity and care. The answer was yes, blossoming that friendship into a marriage that will remain in love with the years they spent together always being cherished. Their families grew, giving many opportunities for Chris's love to spread to all his nieces, and nephews.

Chris dedicated his skills to the automotive industry as an auto body technician with a long career at the Yark Automotive Group perfecting each car to pristine condition. He moved his skills, time, labor, and quality into retirement in 2022, with plans to travel.

Christopher liked cooking, where he recreated his wife's recipes while adding his own flare. He also enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, and woodworking. His craft was furniture, shelving, and projects his wife brought to the table. Chris brought his love of quality to all his projects as he shared them with his family and close friends.

He is remembered and deeply appreciated for his time devoted to the Midtown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was baptized in 1990 and had the privilege to serve as a ministerial servant for the congregation. His retirement plans to proudly captain his boat and enjoy traveling with his wife were cut short by cancer. Chris will be remembered and missed by all who he deeply cared for and kept close.
