Christopher Carnevale Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Mar. 20, 2025.
Christopher M. Carnevale, 51, of Peabody, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Born in Beverly Massachusetts, he was the son of Michael Carnevale and the late Cynthia (Rowe) Gill. Chris leaves behind his son, Andres Abreu along with countless loving family members and friends.
Chris graduated from the Beverly High School, Claude H Patten Wing in 1991 where he studied carpentry. After high school he attended North Shore Community College and Salem State University where he earned his masters degree in Criminal Justice. Chris then began his career with the Nantucket Police Department, Nantucket, Massachusetts in 1996 as a Summer Special Police Officer. Shortly thereafter, he became a Full-Time Police Officer. During his career, Chris served as a Detective, School Resource Officer and was promoted to Sergeant before retiring.
Chris helped run the Citizen's Police Academy, was a firearms instructor, assisted with the community service program as an ATV instructor along with organizing trainings and drills within Nantucket PD and the Nantucket Public Schools. Throughout his tenure, Chris received several awards and accommodations. The Nantucket community will most remember his dedication and compassion as the School Resource Officer (SRO). During his time in this role Chris worked tirelessly to guide the island's youth with mentorship and care. He always expressed the great pride he had being an SRO as this was one of his favorite parts of being a police officer.
Chris was an avid outdoorsman, military buff, and game player. He was always up for an adventure, whether it was hunting in Massachusetts, mountain climbing in New Hampshire, or jet skiing off Nantucket. An avid reader, he loved learning about military history and would recount expressively the stories for others. He loved to play strategy games, in person and online, always ready to roll the dice. He also enjoyed being a member of the Oddfellows. But he was happiest entertaining friends and family. Chris had an infectious smile and he always left others full of great memories.
Chris is survived by his son, Andres Abreu; father, Michael Carnevale and his wife Laura; brothers, Michael Carnevale and Matthew Carnevale and sister, Abigail Carnevale; Uncle Allen Rowe and God daughter Ava Wesley. He was predeceased by his mother, Cynthia (Rowe) Gill and sister, Amy Carnevale.
Christopher's funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Friday, March 28th, at 12:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, prior to the Mass, from 10:00am-12:00pm. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Beverly. Contributions may be made in Christopher's memory to a charitable organization of your choice.
