Christopher Castleberry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Funeral Home & Cremation Center Inc. on Aug. 11, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Christopher LeBron Castleberry was born on August 26, 1996, to LeBron Castleberry and Lynn Croft (Castleberry) in Florida.

LeBron grew up in Chattanooga, TN, where he attended Red Bank High School. He was a member of the JROTC, the Red Bank Boxing Club (Golden Gloves boxer), and played on the soccer team.

During his senior year of high school, he moved to Seattle, WA, to devote more time to his relationship with his dad. They often spent time sailing or working together.

After graduation, he wanted to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and served three years (2015–2018) in the United States Army as a 19K10 M1 Armor Crewman, SPC, stationed at Fort Hood and serving in Korea.

(2-8 CAV, 1st Battalion, 1st Brigade, 8th Cavalry Regiment, Army Cavalry Regiment, heavy tank unit)

During his time of service, he received the following honors:

• Presidential Unit Citation

• Meritorious Unit Commendation

• National Defense Service Ribbon

• Korean Defense Service Ribbon

• Army Service Ribbon

• Sharpshooter with Rifle M16 A2

• Marksmanship with Pistol

After the military, he moved back to Seattle, WA, where he taught a boxing fitness class, enjoyed creating music, worked with his dad in their father-and-son carpentry business, and helped others in whatever way he could.

LeBron was very close with his family and considered his friends to be family as well.

While he was saved as a child, as an adult-like many of us-he sought to know the Lord in a deeper way.

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, he married the love of his life, Yanethxi.

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, LeBron unexpectedly went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was a beloved son to both his parents, a devoted husband to Yanethxi, a "stepped-up" dad to Adrian, a loving brother to Cassandra (Jeffrey) Elkins and his little sister Mattie. He was a fun uncle to two nephews (Justin and Joseph) and one niece (Jaylee), and a grandson to Donna Garrison and Kathy Stewart. He was also a nephew to Courtney, Tiffany, and Tim.

He was preceded in death by his three grandfathers-Robert Croft, Barry Garrison, and Stan Stewart-as well as his uncle, Shannon Stewart.

LeBron was a loyal friend and a relentless encourager to many. He was often the first person to reach out to those in need. He was a true gentleman, a sharp dresser, and passionate about Jesus.

He stood up for what was right, protected others, loved deeply, and never tolerated bullying.

He enjoyed working with his dad and building their father-and-son carpentry business together.

We will grieve the loss of your presence on this earth, but we will rejoice in the day our souls meet again in heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Abba's House with Pastor Ronnie Phillips, Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of the service on Monday at the church.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
