Christopher Cyr
Rutland- Christopher Robert Cyr, 54, of Rutland, died tragically in an automobile accident on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
He was born in Rutland on May 28, 1971, the son of Robert and Marie (Matott) Cyr.
He attended Otter Valley Union High School and graduated from Rutland High School in 1989.
In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in demolition derbies.
Christopher had been together with Jenna Wiggett for over 20 years and were married on July 2, 2016.
He had a passion for cooking and had been employed most recently as head chef at Kamuda's Market and Deli in Pittsford. He was also a chef at The Iron Lantern, Killington Grand Hotel, Killington Market and Deli, and the Holiday Inn.
Family was everything to Christopher. Spending time with his wife and children outdoors hiking, kayaking, 4 wheeling and going to camp, were very special to him. He was always the grill man at family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife Jenna and children Lena, Jackson and Marie, his sister Micki Blanchette(Phil) of Rutland, brothers Clifford Cyr of Brandon, Robert Cyr (Kate) of Middletown Springs and Sean Cyr of Rutland, nephew and godson Chad Galiano( Jessica), nephews Todd Galiano(Diana) and Andrew Galiano, and nieces Andrea Galiano and Katie Blanchette.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 on Friday, December 19, at the Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main Street, Rutland. A brief service will be held near the end of calling hours and a reception will follow at the Franklin Center on Strongs Avenue in Rutland.
