On this day we remember Christopher "Chris" Joseph Dies, age 35, a young man whose kind heart and spirited soul left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. Chris departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Chris was one of the sweetest and kindest souls one would ever know. Always rooting for the underdog, he extended his hand to anyone in need, having a genuine spirit of compassion for others. His love for God and his family was the foundation of his life.
His special love for his cats, Jinx, Charlie, Swisher, and Yoda showed his nurturing nature. His passion for fast cars and video games reflected his zest for life and excitement. Chris's skills as a chef were admired by everyone. He had been employed at the Moose Café in Asheville and had also been a manager at Cook Out.
Oh, how Chris loved the holidays, especially Christmas! He was always the first in his neighborhood to put up lights and Christmas decorations illuminating not only his home but the hearts of all around him.
Life wasn't always easy for Chris, but his resilience and determination to overcome obstacles that he faced, were challenging and he emerged stronger and inspired others with his courage. In his final act of selflessness, Chris chose to be an organ donor giving the gift of life to others. This is indeed a testament to his caring and giving spirit.
Christopher, our beloved son, loving brother, and dear friend, may you rest in peace. You have left this world a better place for all of us.
He is preceded in death by, his grandfather, James Eugene Warren, and his grandmother, Louella Warren Stringfellow.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Susan Warren Knoch, and step-father, Fred Knoch of Greer, SC; a sister, Amanda Dies of Candler; a niece Madilyn Jones of Candler; his father John Dies of Erwin, TN, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service of remembrance to celebrate Chris's life will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Reverend Scott McAllister will be officiating. The family will receive friends one our prior to the funeral service.
