Christopher Holda, 62, of Smyrna, GA, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from heart failure.
Born on May 3, 1963, in Hartford, CT, Chris was the youngest of four children of the late Frank and Dorothea (Black) Holda.
Chris was predeceased by his brother, Michael Francis Holda.
He is survived by his two sisters, Sharon Holda of Massachusetts, and Mary Ellen McKeever and her husband, Alfred Decocq, of Arizona; a niece, Elizabeth McConaghy and her husband, Keith, of Arizona; and a nephew, John McKeever and his husband, Marshal Carter, of North Carolina, an aunt, Helen Holda of Connecticut, several grand nephews, one grand niece and many cousins. Chris is also survived by his former sister-in-law, Leslie Holda of Connecticut, and close family friend, Barbara Collins of Massachusetts.
Chris attended school in Newington, Connecticut, and Ruskin, Florida. In his adult life, he honed his skills as a jack of all trades while working in restaurants and nightclubs in Connecticut, New York, and eventually Georgia. Known as "CJ" to his friends and acquaintances, he was regarded as a hard worker with a remarkable aptitude for tackling mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues-often with creative and resourceful solutions.
Chris will be remembered for his quick wit and his gift for making people laugh. He had a deep love for classic comedy, enjoying YouTube videos of old-time comics such as George Carlin and the Three Stooges, and at one point dreamed of becoming a stand-up comedian. His humor, warmth, and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Private services will be held at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, Connecticut, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in the name of Christopher Holda may be made to the Cobb County Animal Services Shelter
or to a charity of your choice.
