James Holda Obituary

James Paul Holda, born on March 22, 1976, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 49. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unparalleled kindness.

Throughout his life, James exemplified the spirit of entrepreneurship and determination, owning and successfully managing ATM2GO and Door and Glass Service. His colleagues and clients knew him as a dedicated and innovative businessman who pursued excellence in every venture.

A true craftsman at heart, James had an exceptional ability to build or fix anything, earning him the affectionate moniker of a real-life Bob the Builder. Friends and family admired his boundless creativity and practical skills, knowing that if something needed fixing, James was always up to the task.

Outside of work, James was passionate about his hobbies. He was an avid golfer, often found on the greens enjoying the sport he loved. As a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Browns, he cherished game days surrounded by friends and family, sharing laughs and the thrill of the game. His love for sports continued with ice hockey, playing semi-pro roller hockey and a highly impressive roller skater. Hood Skating Rink was considered his second home!

James's sense of humor was infectious, and his giving nature touched everyone around him. Those who were fortunate enough to be loved by him never doubted his affection and loyalty; his love was a constant, unwavering presence in their lives.

Though he did not belong to a specific church, James held his Catholic faith close to his heart, reflecting the values of compassion and community in his daily actions. He earned his Associate's degree from ODU, which paved the way for his successful career and entrepreneurial pursuits.

James was an amazing husband, father, son, businessman, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Amber, and their two sons, James and Samuel, who will carry forward his spirit and teachings. He is also survived by his loving parents, William and Mary Ann, his cousin Stephanie (and her husband Dave) and their children, Hannah and Brayden, mother-in-law Charlotte, aunt Pat, uncle John (and his wife Carol), and his cherished fur babies, Claire and Maggie. He joins his dear fur baby Lilly, who has preceded him in passing.

James's life will be celebrated with joy and gratitude at a memorial service and celebration of life to be held at a later date. In honoring his memory, let us all strive to live with the warmth, humor, and generosity that James so effortlessly shared with the world.
