Christopher Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel P.A. - Westminster on Jul. 13, 2024.
SGT Christopher Patrick Moore, II, 36, of Westminster, passed away tragically on July 4, 2024 in Taneytown. SGT Moore was born on April 20, 1988 in Baltimore and was the cherished son of Christopher Patrick Moore and Natalie Ann (Houchen) Moore of Westminster.
In addition to his parents, SGT Moore is survived by his daughter, Chloe Ann Moore. He also leaves his sister Caitlin Ann Moore, his brother Cody Daniel Moore of Westminster, his fiancée of Taneytown, and his beloved Bassett hound, Fred.
After graduating from high school, SGT Moore enlisted in the Maryland Army National Guard, remaining an NCO in the Guard until his death. He was deployed to Egypt in 2011. SGT Moore was assigned to the Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 1-175th Infantry (Fifth Maryland), Maryland Army National Guard.
SGT Moore was awarded the following decorations for his Honorable Service:
FEDERAL AWARDS:
Armed Forces Services Medal x2
Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal x1
Multinational Force and Observers Medal x1
Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal x1
Overseas Service Ribbon x1
Army Superior Unit Award x1
Armed Forces Reserve Medal W-M Device x1
Army Good Conduct Medal x1
Army Achievement Medal x2
STATE AWARDS:
MD Commendation Medal x2
MD State Service Ribbon x1
MD Emergency Service Ribbon x3
DC Emergency Service Ribbon x1
MD Outstanding Unit Ribbon x3
Moore held many titles in his life, as he was a hard-working 'Jack-of-all-trades', but his favorite role was being a doting father to his daughter, Chloe. He spent every evening pushing her on the swing and watching her play in the yard. He read bedtime stories at night, and cooked breakfast on Sunday mornings. He valued spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing softball in his free time. He was also a volunteer firefighter and a chaplain for the Harney VFW.
His display of character that he not only demonstrated for his daughter, but for anyone who knew him, was of genuine care and compassion for those around them. He was a man who showed up to help anyone and everyone, and had a natural ability to lighten the mood when things got rough. He positively impacted our community and those around him, and he will be truly missed.
To honor SGT Moore's memory, his family will hold a 'Celebration of Life' at the VFW in Westminster on Sunday, July 21st from 1-5pm. If desired, donations may be made to the GoFundMe that's been set up to assist the family with anything they may need as well as build a trust for his daughter at https://gofund.me/ec2a9b7a

I met Chris at the Thunderhead bowling alley, where we bowled on a league together for many years. We have gotten to know each other and our families quite well, there was never a night at bowling he wasn't smiling and making jokes! He was my Wifi man, to connect my music while bowling. And his daughter Chloe, I would give $ to her to get candy from the machine for being good and while she wasn't looking, I would take her banana runts!! Boy, she would get mad. Haha Chris you will truly be missed. Save a seat at the table for us!
