Christopher David Morrow, 44, of Asheville, passed away surrounded by loved ones.
Chris grew up in Buncombe County and attended West Buncombe Elementary, Erwin Middle, and Erwin High School. As a young man, he was active in youth sports, especially baseball and basketball. A lifelong Michael Jordan fan, Chris faithfully cheered for both the UNC Tar Heels and the Chicago Bulls.
Faith played a central role throughout his life. Chris was very involved in church during his youth, and, despite life’s struggles, he never wavered in his belief or took his eyes off God.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Joe Morrow Sr.; his brother, Barry Joe Morrow Jr.; and his niece, Danita Collins Shook.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Sharri LaJean Morrow; his sisters, LaJean Morrow Smith, Kathi Morrow Case, Darleen Morrow, and Jacki Morrow Collins; along with Shalene Morrow, Stella Stills, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on November 8, 2025, at 2 PM in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s honor to Goodwill Industries.
