Christopher "Chris" Joseph Plouff, age 58, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Chicopee, MA, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Chris was born on Sunday, September 18, 1966, in Pawtucket, RI to the late Robert Allen Plouff, Sr. and Beverly Ann (Gallagher) Plouff.
Chris is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jackie (Davis) Plouff; his stepdaughter: Amber Ryals of Harrisburg; his two siblings: Robert Plouff, Jr. of Forestdale, RI, Robynne Plouff of Pfafftown, NC, several nieces, and nephews, and two cats, Sabrina and Jose.
Chris grew up in Central Falls, RI and attended Davies Technical and Vocation High School. After graduating, he worked in several places until deciding to join the Air Force in 1987, becoming an Air Traffic Controller. After his discharge from Active Duty he joined the Air Force Reserve, trained as a Fire Fighter, and left in 1999. In 1991 Chris became a Federal Fire Fighter / Emergency Medical Technician at Submarine Base New London, CT. He was promoted to Captain in 2003. Chris transferred to Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg in 2011 and retired in 2016. His tenure as a Fire Fighter included an assignment to the regional hazard team and honored him as Fire Fighter of the Year in 2010.
Calling Hours for Chris will be on Thursday May 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main St. Agawam MA. 01001 Followed a Procession and Committal service at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St Agawam MA at 3:00PM
