We are saddened to announce the passing of our brother, Christopher C. Powers. Born December 16, 1963 to Charles J. and Dolores M. Powers (nee Branchaw). Chris is survived by his parents, his siblings, Michael C. Powers and Karen M. Powers, his aunt, Mary Kellogg (Robert Powers), and many beloved cousins.
Chris graduated Lockport Township High School and Governor State University and worked at Pepperidge Farm Bakery in Downers Grove just a few months shy of 40 years.
Fiercely loyal and immensely generous, Chris will always be known as our family protector and trailblazer. If he could help someone out, he would, whether the person was known to him or not. He will always be our guiding light of love and loyalty to our family and friends. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Wednesday October 9, 2024 from 3-8pm. Chapel prayers will be the following morning at the funeral home at 10:15am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jude Catholic Church New Lenox at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Wilmington, IL.
