It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Christopher Loyd Ray, affectionately known as Chris, who left this world on September 20, 2025, in his beloved city of Dallas, Texas. Born on December 15, 1988, Chris brought joy and warmth to everyone he encountered. He was a beacon of love, faith, and kindness, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris had a fulfilling career with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), where he cherished the opportunity to meet wonderful people and forge lasting friendships. His dedication and enthusiasm for his work were evident, and he regarded himself as blessed to be part of such a vibrant community.

From a young age, Chris demonstrated a strong faith in Christ, which remained at the core of everything he did. He was a family man through and through, always placing God and his loved ones at the forefront of his life. He took immense pride in being a devoted father, considering his children, Sarayah LeAnn Ray and Jayvin Loyd Ray, his proudest accomplishments. He was their biggest supporter, attending every sporting event and cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.

Chris's energetic and loving personality made him a cherished friend. He was known for his fun-loving spirit and his ability to light up a room with his presence. The memories of laughter, music, and shared moments with friends will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved him. His close-knit group of friends, affectionately known as "The Bro's," including Craig, Victor, Dominique, and Charleston, along with his special friend Georgian, will hold on to the countless memories they crafted together.

Chris's childhood was filled with joy and achievements, particularly in sports. He flourished at St. Philips School, where he was an exceptional tee-ball and baseball player, making the all-star team every year. His passion for music followed him through high school at Lincoln High School, where he proudly participated in the "Wall of Sound" marching band. He furthered his education at Prairie View A&M University, nurturing his growth and ambition.

Beyond work and family, Chris had a multitude of interests that he enjoyed sharing with others. He had a deep love for cooking, impressing family and friends with his culinary skills. An avid traveler, he sought adventure and exploration in every corner he could find. He also had a loyal passion for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, often sharing his excitement and devotion with fellow fans.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Chris, we invite family and friends to join us in remembering his love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. A Prayer Service will be held on October 3, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, TX at 7:15 PM, followed by a Funeral Service on October 4, 2025, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, also in Dallas, at 1:00 PM.

He was predeceased by his father, Alvin Loyd Ray, Jr., whose memory will forever remain close to Chris's heart.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Chris as a vibrant, loving soul whose impact will forever shape our lives. He taught us the value of faith, family, and friendship, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
