Christopher Ray Smith, age 46, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on September 11, 2025. Born on November 14 to Donald Smith and Ronna Steinert, Chris lived a life full of creativity, compassion, and quiet strength.

From an early age, Chris had a deep love for music, animals, and art-passions that reflected his gentle spirit and expressive soul. Whether he was drawing, listening to his favorite songs, or caring for the creatures around him, Chris brought beauty and kindness into the world in his own unique way.

He is survived by his beloved son, Chance Smith; his parents, Donald Smith and Ronna Steinert; his sisters, Donna Smith and Stephanie Stewman; his grandmothers, Julia Smith and Dorothy Carlton. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and a nephew, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Samual Charles Smith and Ronnie Self, whose spirits now welcome him with love.

A private graveside service will be held for family to honor and celebrate Chris's life. Though he may be gone from our sight, his presence will remain in the music he loved, the art he created, and the hearts of those who knew him.
