WELLS, Christopher Leigh. Early one morning, just before the break of day, God was thinking of people he loved so He called Chris away. On Saturday, October 9, 2010, Chris answered God's call and went home to be with the Lord. Christopher Leigh Wells was born October 26, 1985 in Petersburg, Virginia. It was readily known that he was one of the angels in his family being a loving son, supportive brother, kind grandson and nephew, and a wonderful uncle. Chris loved life, his family, and people in general. His love of the Dallas Cowboys fueled his passion for football which he played both in high school and briefly in college. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Christopher was determined to make his life stand for something great. He graduated from Thomas Dale High School in 2004 and was scheduled to graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2010. He was employed at Costco on Hull Street in Richmond. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Deborah Clark (Bobby) and father, Donald Wells (Bernetta), both of Chesterfield; two sisters, Traci and Octavia, one brother, Jeremiah, and one nephew, Elijah, all of Chesterfield; paternal grandfather, James E. Wells of Petersburg; five uncles, James H. Wells (Mildred) of Varina, Robert Wells (Alice) of Rocky Mount, N.C., Clarence Wells (Donica) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Brian Wells (Crystal) of Glen Allen, and Edward Wells (Jewel) of Varina; two aunts, Patrice Keesee (Christopher) of Columbia, S.C. and Rhonda Bernet (Robert) of San Antonio, Texas; along with a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including three special friend,: Phillip Diana, Crystal Herocopos, and Kenny Hegeland. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lucy Wells, and maternal grandparents, Vernon and Dorothy Johns. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia. Chris will be sorely missed but will remain forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 16 at The Crusade for Christ Temple, 2512 Deerfield Dr., Petersburg, Va., with the pastor Shaw, officiating. Burial will be held at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Petersburg. Funeral services entrusted to the Petersburg chapel, Joseph M.
