He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Helen Welsh, daughter Amanda, daughter Anna, brother Kevin (Cindy), sister Patty (Russ), sister Nancy, brother Tommy, 5 nieces and 3 nephews.
Chris was born in Bayshore, New York where he had a paper route, played sports, enjoyed fishing and boating with his family. He moved to Merritt Island, Florida with his parents and younger brother, Kevin in 1972.
Chris graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1976. He enjoyed his high school years where he was on the wrestling team. Chris went on to graduate from Brevard Community College and Rollins College with a degree in Bachelor of Science.
In 1978, while Chris was in college, he started working at United Parcel Service. He held several positions including delivery driver. He was also a union steward and was very active with the Teamsters Union.
In 2001 he went to work for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters out of Washington D.C. His position in the D.R.I.V.E. department gave him the opportunity to travel the USA and make lifelong friends across the country.
Chris was very proud of careers at United Parcel Service and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He retired in 2017, earlier than he planned due to his diagnosis of Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.
Chris's time to walk eternally with his parents, Thomas and Anita Welsh came sooner than we could have imagined. We know now Chris is at peace. He's fishing and whistling in heaven.In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations to St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care at www.reflectionsisc.org

I prayed for Chris when he was ill. He is with Jesus now so there is no reason to pray but only to remember him with fondest thoughts.

I remember Chris as my UPS Dude from 1985 in Indialantic to 1994 in Malabar. I remember all the stories Chris told me about his pickup and deliveries and the people he met. Later when he was an agent for the Teamsters he invited me to go with him to a union meeting in Orlando and introduced me to James Hoffa Jr. He said don't say anything and walk away.

Chris was in my car for drivers ed. He was first to put the radio on ! He made that experience quite delightful. Laughs had by all 4 of us in that car. I looked forward to that class because of him. Sorry to learn of his passing. Prayers to his family.

Chris and I shared a friendship for several years. I met Chris when he was my UPS delivery dude. We continued getting torether for many years after that. I knew his wife Helen and daughters Anna & Amanda. I remember most about Chris was his humor.

I knew Chris from the Poet Section in North Babylon, NY as kids. We lost contact when he moved to Florida in 1972. Then; in 2009 a guy came up to my counter where I worked at the Post Office. Slides a photo to me of us kids from 1966. The guy was Chris! It was great seeing him. He was nostalgic. I was flattered. We talked for a while. He truly was so nice and interested in others. We talked on the phone a few times and I arranged for him to attend a North Babylon reunion in Palm Coast, FL. His brother Tom drove Chris. They had fun and Chris got to know many people and he kept up with these new friends. They and myself are truly saddened. My sincere condolences to Chris's wife and family.

Chris. We grew up together but unfortunately you guys moved to Florida. You and I drove back to Florida from LI when we were about 19 years old in your brown van. It was a good time. Although years later we didn´t see eye to eye politically, you were always a nice guy to me, my wife Lisa and my mom. I always appreciated that.
