Christopher White Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 23, 2025.
Christopher Dean "Chris" White, age 57, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Seymour Crossing, with his sister by his side.

Born on September 11, 1967, in Seymour, Indiana, Chris was the beloved son of the late Larry White and Marjorie (Brandenburg) Nichter. A proud native of Seymour, Chris lived a life rooted in his community, family, and passions.

A 1981 graduate of Seymour High School, Chris was a standout athlete who made a name for himself as a 6'8" freshman on the varsity basketball team - a feat that few can claim. His talent on the court earned him a scholarship to West Virginia University, where he continued to play the sport he loved and pursue his education.

Chris had a big heart, a gentle soul, and a personality that brought light into any room. He had a deep appreciation for all kinds of music, though in the last year, he found special comfort and joy in Christian music. Always curious and tuned into the world, Chris enjoyed following current events and dreaming big. He often spoke of one day owning his own restaurant, a dream fueled by his love for cooking.

Chris treasured time with his loved ones and was known for his kindness and courteous nature. He aspired to learn guitar and never stopped finding ways to grow and enjoy life's little pleasures - like reminiscing about his favorite car, a red Trans Am.

Chris is survived by his loving sister, Teresa White of Seymour, Indiana, who will deeply miss his warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at New Providence Cemetery.
