Christopher M. Whitsel, 60, formerly of Hill Valley, passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday July 17, 2025, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehab, Butler. Born December 28, 1964, Huntingdon, son of the late Paul E. and Barbara (Jensen) Whitsel. Survived by his siblings, Brad Whitsel and wife, Laurie; Jonathan Weaver and wife, Angelina; Ralph Weaver and wife, Karin; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Whitsel; and his nieces, a nephew, and a grandnephew. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley Whitsel. Chris was a 1982 graduate of Mount Union Area High School and later earned an associate’s degree from Penn State University. Chris worked as a counselor at Youth Forestry Camp #3 in Huntingdon County and then later was employed at the American Legion Country Club Pro Shop. He was a proud past Eagle Scout and later served as Scoutmaster for Troop #284 in Hill Valley. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and keeping his property in tip top shape. A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment to be at Mount Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
