Going up to the face-off circle, him looking at me as saying " Aren't you too old to be playing in this league ??" Might have been 50's Laurel, I can't remember. He knew how to run a game. RIP Chuck

I knew Chuck from refereeing at Skate Frederick. He was always a pleasure to be around and was so funny. He was so pleasant to talk to. I know he was so loved and appreciated by so many at Skate Frederick and he will be so so missed. I hope he has ice to skate on in heaven!

Thank you for the great hockey memories, Chuck! Your positive impact was wide, affecting many. You always understood that if we're playing rec-hockey, we all better want to have fun. Most nights it was you who set the tone for the game. Across several rinks and many years, as we stood waiting to take the ice it was always great to hear someone say "Oh good, Chuck is reffing tonight!" Rest In Peace, Chuck. Do you have all the Angels laughing, yet?

Chuck in all honesty was the best friend I ever had. I wish he understood the impact he had on me. He helped me in all ways. Helped me move numerous times took me to and from hospital surgeries, hung out with me and watched my daughter play softball, helped when car broke down in the middle of the night. Chuck was there through many problems. He was a golfing and hockey ref buddy. I´ve never met nor had the privilege to be around such a selfless and generous guy. It would take me many lifetimes to equal what he meant to me. And oh, came to my wedding in Florida. I want him back.

I only knew Chuck through his refereeing at youth and adult league hockey games... he was the best, firmly in command of the game, but always with a sense of humor, and even occasional friendly advice especially with the youth players. My condolences to his family and friends, he was a rare breed and will be missed.

Chuck was an incredible Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend. He was always a joy to be around. Friendly, caring, funny and smiling every time I ever saw him. He always kept himself busy, always had plans and always put his family first. He will be missed so much, my heart breaks for the Evans Family, I know he is watching over all of you and loves you so much. Sending my deepest condolences to you all. I am so sorry for the pain your going through as you lost him way too soon. I know he will live on in spirit through all his Grandchildren.
