Charles "Chuck" Steven Merrill Sr., age 82 of National City, MI., passed away on December 30, 2024, in Grand Blanc, MI., surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born on December 03, 1942, in Flint, MI. to the late Edwin and Verna (Madison) Merrill.
Chuck was one of 6 children. He lived in Mt. Morris, MI. and attended Beecher High School in Flint. He eventually went to work for Fisher Body as a line worker retiring 30 years later. During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Hazel (March) Merrill on August 10, 1968. Together they had 2 children. Chuck was a true Michigan sports fan. He enjoyed watching Tigers baseball, Michigan (UOM) football, Detroit Lions, Detroit Pistons and the Red Wings.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Hazel; children, Valerie (Tim Converse)) Lamoreaux of Flint, MI., and Charles (Debra) Merrill Jr. of Mt. Morris, MI.; sister Joan (Dale) Link of Genesee, MI.; grandchildren, Clarence Lamoreaux III, Zachary (Cassidy) Lamoreaux, Charles (Taylor) Merrill III, Thomas Merrill, Annette Merrill, Kayla (Doug) Horton; great-grandchild, Luke Lamoreaux, and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Richard, Raymond, Bruce, and Norman.
Family will have services for Chuck on Monday, January 6, 2025, in Hale, MI., at the Buresh Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00am - 2:00pm. Funeral at 2:00pm followed by interment at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale. An online guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com to share condolences, memories, and photos of Chuck.
