A Celebration of an Extraordinary Life: Dr. Chuni Lal Rustagi

Departed this world on February 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength & service.

Today, rather than simply mourning a loss, our family is choosing to celebrate the magnificent, 90-year adventure of our beloved father, Chuni Lal Rustagi. He lived an inspiring, vibrant life, full of purpose, and deeply connected to others.

Dad was a man of boundless talent, unparalleled intellect, and infinite grace. Throughout his remarkable 90 years, he wore many hats—an inventive genius, a visionary businessman, a dedicated philanthropist, and a revered professor. His brilliance was recognized globally, culminating in the rare and prestigious honor of being a Gold Medalist from the World Trade Organization. Yet, despite his towering professional achievements, it was his profound humanity that truly set him apart.

Dad was, simply put, an incredible human being. His relentless positivity and ironclad strong will served as a guiding light for our family and an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He possessed a rare and beautiful gift: the ability to touch lives in profoundly positive ways. To know him was to love him. There was not a single person who met him who did not walk away feeling valued, encouraged, and uplifted by his boundless warmth.

He had an infectious enthusiasm for life and a magnetic warmth that drew people in. He always greated everyone with a warm smile no matter what challenges he was facing. Whether through his large-scale philanthropy or his quiet, everyday acts of kindness, his generosity of spirit knew no limits. He didn't just walk through life; he illuminated it for everyone he met. Whether you were a lifelong friend or a student he had just met, his warm heart made you feel instantly valued, seen, and capable of greatness.

He leaves behind a deeply rooted legacy of love, resilience, and brilliance. He is survived by his devoted wife, Snehlata Rastogi; his sons, Gagan Rastogi and Akash Rastogi; his daughters, Preeti Rastogi and Leena Agarwal; his loving daughters-in-law, Sarika Rastogi and Gunjan Rastogi; and his wonderful sons-in-law, Alok Rastogi and Mayank Agarwal. His spirit and teachings will forever live on in the hearts of his cherished grandchildren: Ritika, Ananya, Ankit, Anika, Reyansh, and Ishaan.

Dad gave us the world. He taught us how to lead with generosity, how to persevere with a smile, and how to leave every room a little brighter than we found it. While we will miss him every single day, we are infinitely grateful for the 90 years of magic he shared with us.

We invite all who knew and loved him to smile today in his honor, to do a kind deed for a stranger in the spirit of his generous heart, and to celebrate a life wonderfully lived.

Rest in peace, Dad. Your light will never fade.
