Cindy Johnson

Cindy Johnson of Eustis, Florida passed away on August 24, 2025, at the age of 71 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Samuel and Beatrice Rivers. She lived in New York and then New Jersey before settling down in Florida. Cindy was an avid Boston Celtic Basketball fan since she was a child and a long-time fan of the R&B singer Smokey Robinson since the age of 14. She enjoyed spending time with her four small dogs (Smokey, Miracle, Lucky and Zoey). She spent lots of wonderful time with her grandchildren at their school and sports events, vacations, and on RV camping trips across the United States. She loved traveling with her family in both the United States and in Europe to places like Greece, Italy and France. She worked for Orlando Regional Medical Hospital as a Medical Records Senior Analyst for over 28 years where she liked working with her co-workers and the Medical Doctors. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Johnson Jr. in 2015, her sister Robin Rivers in 1971, mother Beatrice Mae Perry Rivers in 2005 and her father Samuel C. Rivers in 2011. Cindy is survived by her daughter Tamara Reels, son Irin (Goddu) Rivers, grandsons Elijah, Joseph and Keona Bryant-Reels, Johnathan, granddaughter Brianna, grandson Devante, great granddaughter (Belle)and great grandson (Kaleb). She is also survived by her brother Samuel Rivers III and sister-in-law Lorna of Randolph Massachusetts, sister Monique Rencher and brother-in-law Ernest of Riverview FL, and sister Traci Tozzi and brother-in-law Mark of Glen Rock, NJ. She is also survived by her niece Iisha Reyes and her husband Charles, niece Tiffany Hallacy, niece Jessica Rivers, great nephew Charles Devon Reyes, great niece Destiny Reyes and great niece Deja Reyes. In addition, she is survived by her Aunt Shirley DeLibero, Uncle Richard Merriles and Aunt Louise Ramos. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a visitation and a service directly afterwards starting at 2pm. Unfortunately, interment will not be followed at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513. Because of their strict rules.
