Clinton Melvin Weaver, Sr. born June 2, 1936 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Son of Clinton R. (Bill) Weaver and Gladys Barnes passed away peacefully in Leesburg, Florida September 8, 2025 at the age of 89. Mel, as he preferred to be called, loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and snow skiing. He had a natural artistic talent and enjoyed oil painting. He was heavily involved with his church in both Hudson, New Hampshire (where he raised his family) and in Leesburg, Florida where he retired. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired Air Force military officer, and dog handler. He loved to befriend all he met and always passed on inspiration. He is survived by his wife, Marian DesPres, children, Clinton M. Weaver Jr., Ellen M. Weaver (David Boivin), Joann Grugan (Paul), William F. Weaver (Carrie), siblings Audrey Scott, Mary Winslow (Tim), sister-in-law Jean Weaver, 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ann (Sullivan) Weaver, his son Christopher J. Weaver, siblings Alice Faye Hooks, Carrol Pierce, Elizabeth (Libby) Weaver, Kenneth Weaver, James (Richard) Weaver, and twin sisters Linda Boyette and Brenda Wall. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748. A funeral mass will take place the following day Friday, September 19, 2025, 8:30 AM at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 1330 Sunshine Ave, Leesburg, FL 34748 with inurnment to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery in Leesburg, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
