Cindy Roper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Billings Funeral Home - Woodward on Sep. 23, 2025.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Cindy Roper, peacefully made her final transition into the Kindom of Heaven, the morning of September 21, 2025 at her home in Enid, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Fort Supply.
Maxine Lucinda "Cindy" Roper was born on September 13, 1956, in Kansas to Pearl and Virgil Hartley. Cindy was blessed in early childhood with a bonus dad, Eldon Catlin, who she lovingly called "daddy". She grew up in Buffalo, Oklahoma. In 1980, Cindy was united in marriage to John "Tim" Roper, Sr., and they made their home in Buffalo. They were blessed with four children. In 1986, Cindy and Tim moved to Ft. Supply where they reared their family. Although Cindy and Tim divorced in 1997, they considered each other family and maintained a close friendship. Cindy worked as a police dispatcher and reserve police officer for the Harper County Sherrifs Office in Buffalo for over a decade. She relocated to Fayetteville, North Carolina for several years before moving back to Oklahoma in 2008.
In 2016, Cindy reconnected with Royce Kelley, who she grew up with in Buffalo, and they have since remained deeply in love and inseparable until her final breath.
Cindy enjoyed traveling (especially to Wyoming), lovingly bullying Royce, atrocious
C- List movies, perusing thrift stores, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Cindy is survived by the love of her life, Royce Kelley, of the home; two sons, John T. "J.R." Roper, Jr. of Mooreland and Randall L. Roper of Vici; two daughters, Melissa P. Roper-Myers and husband John of Mooreland, and Jennifer A. Roper of Enid; one brother, Miles Smith of Buffalo; one sister, Pamela Williams and husband Tom of Missouri; seven grandchildren- Shanae, Jerret, Peyton, Laramie, Ashtynn, Stetson, and Jalynn; three great-grandchildren- Sage, Harper, and Gentry; her beloved pups, Cowboy and Angel; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death and reunited in heaven with her beloved mother and father.
