Cindy Warren Obituary
In loving memory of Cindy Sue Warren of Kingsland, Texas, who passed away on October 27th, 2023, at the age of 65. Cindy brought joy and warmth to the lives of those who knew her, and her vibrant spirit will forever be cherished.
Born on June 25th, 1958, in Norfolk, Virginia, Cindy was the beloved daughter of Jesse and Ida Warren. Growing up in a Navy family, Cindy's life was marked by frequent moves, but it only added to her sense of adventure and her sense of family. Her early years were filled with cherished memories of her family's travels, pets, friends, but mostly, the antics she enjoyed with her father and older sister. She loved them and it was evident every time she shared their stories.
As a young adult, Cindy embarked on her own personal journey that was sprinkled with love, success, failure and an inflamed hunger for life. Her adventures led her to a career in the music industry, radio and the arts. She embraced the free-spirited lifestyle, residing in the iconic Venice Beach, the picturesque beaches of South Florida and countless points in between. Her carefree nature was a testament to her vibrant personality and was personified by a small, eloquent tattoo on the small of her ankle - a single silhouetted bird crossing the setting sun.
A deeply spiritual person, Cindy had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and explored various philosophies with enthusiasm. She generously shared her wisdom and insights with close friends and family, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Cindy had a profound connection with the Earth evident by her favorite artistic endeavor the "barefoot shoe". She spent her days collecting, learning and sharing the wonders of nature, always appreciating their energy and beauty. Steadfast, never concerned with their perceived value, they were priceless to her.
Cindy's heart swelled with love when she became a mother to three sons: Jesse, Isaac, and Free. Together, they explored the wonders of nature, sharing fishing trips, music, always as a family. Their happiest times were spent at beaches of Corpus Christi, where they surfed, fished, and savored roasted (beef) hotdogs. Cindy reveled in basking in the sun while watching her boys play, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love and an occasional iced red wine.
Cindy's joy multiplied when she became a grandmother. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she spoiled her grandchildren with stories, games and too many gifts. Cindy cherished every moment spent with them. Her love and admiration were boundless, and at times - literally they knew no bounds...
Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and unrivaled uniqueness. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Jesse and Ida Warren, and is survived by her devoted sister, confidant and best friend, Vicki Crouse. Her brother-in-law and favorite debate partner, Mark Crouse. The many nephews and nieces that she adored. And Carol Sandlin.
Cindy's memory lives on through her sons, Jesse Warren, Isaac Geer, and Dennis Free Farris, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Sophie Warren, Holden Warren, Finn Farris, and Abel Geer.
As we remember Cindy, let us celebrate her genuine kindness, her unwavering love for family, and her boundless spirit. She touched our hearts in countless ways and will forever remain a source of inspiration, joy and as an illustration of what strength should look like. In honoring her memory, may we find solace in the cherished moments we shared with this remarkable woman who brightened our lives.
