Cindy Lou Weigel, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2024. She was born in Lodi, Ohio on November 6, 1961, to the late Quentin and Stella Louise (Hricovec) Wagner.
Cindy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and treasured friend to all who knew her. She put her family first. A lover of beautiful things, she took great pride in her gardening and enjoyed planting flowers. She was active on the family farm and filled in wherever needed. Cindy was constantly creating, always cooking, baking, or crafting. She was hardworking, energetic, quick-witted, and loved having fun. She took an active role in her community. She first served as a Medina County 4H club advisor then transitioned to being a 4H Dog Agility Committee member for a combination of 14 years. She was active in the York Historical Society, the Cranksters, and when Martin was in school, the Liverpool PTO. Even with her many commitments, she was still always the first to pitch in and offer to help anyone with virtually anything. She leaves a legacy and example that will continue to guide and influence all who knew her.
Cindy is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Steven C. Weigel; son, Martin (Anna) Weigel; brother, Michael (Karen) Wagner; devoted sister-in-law, Theresa (Ken) Scherry; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Vanessa) Wagner, Julie (Sean) Kenny, Jody (Ron) Bolech, Nicole (Steven) Lloyd, and Lindsay Scherry; along with a lifetime of collected friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Quentin, and Stella Louise (Hricovec) Wagner.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church Chapel, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, OH 44280. Cindy will be laid to rest following the Mass at the St. Martin's Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Cindy's memory be made to The York Historical Society, c/o 5521 Wolff Road, Medina, Ohio 44256.
