Clair Elliott Hirst passed away, June 25th, in his home in Salt Lake City from a short, unexpected illness. Clair was born July 8, 1983 in Bountiful, Utah to Mark and Sue Hirst. He was raised in Layton, Utah, graduating from Layton High in 2001.
Clair loved being outdoors and was an Eagle Scout. He liked to snowboard, golf, skateboard, fish, wake board and ride motorcycles. His best times were at the skatepark with his boys!
Clair loved fast loud cars. He used to race his car at Rocky Mountain Parkway. He was looking forward to getting his 1967 Firebird together and back on the road.
Clair worked in sales, office management and finance. He loved “closing a deal”. Everyone said he was just a “good guy”.
Clair met Emmy Schnieder in October of 2012. They married on July 1, 2019 in Buffalo, New York, but recently separated. He has 2 sons, Zach and Max. The love and light of his life, his best times were always when he was with them. He was a great dad and loving son. He also loved his dog, Lily, who was with him until the end.
He is survived by his wife, Emmy, sons Zach and Max (Holladay, Utah), Mother, Sue (Layton, Utah), Brother, Michael (Salt Lake City), In-laws, Bernard and Denise Schnieder (Allegany, New York), Many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved and will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark, grandparents, and cousins, Cody Miller and Jeff Hirst.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Country View Ward, 625 Country Creek Dr., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
