Claire C. (Citroen) Jones, a Servant of God, passed away peacefully on Monday at the age of 78. She was a resident of Lafayette, a member of the Lafayette Library Board of Trustees, the Book Club and the Red Hat Society. Claire was a member of Tully United Community Church, and Tree of Life Church. She received a BA in English (Summacum Laude) from Long Island University, a Master of Divinity from United Lutheran Seminary where she graduated with honors, and a Master's in Education (Graduate with Distinction) from Temple University. Claire was employed by Cigna Property and Casualty Insurance Claims for 32 years where she worked as the Assistant Vice President. After retiring she spent 18 years as an Educator and Counselor for Adult Education and Corporate training and was involved in Lay Leadership at several churches for 20 years. Claire served as an Elder at the Riverview Christ Community Church in Drexel Hill, PA for over 25 years. She is survived by her son, Gregory (Julie) Jones of Syracuse. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 23rd 2pm at Tully United Community Church followed by a celebration of life at Claire's home. Contributions may be made in Claires Honor to the Tully United Community Church.
