Claire Ricks

Beverly Claire Davis Ricks, lovingly known as GranClaire, passed away at the age of 92 on February 22, 2025 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she resided the past several years. She was born on March 07, 1932 in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Claire was preceded in death by her parents William Joseph Davis and Mamie Lee Copeland Davis, her husband Fred Ricks, her brothers James Calvin Davis and Charles Joseph Davis. She is survived by her son Thomas Joseph Escher (Patricia), grandchildren Cody Escher (Crystal) and Shondell Havard (Kenny), great grandchildren Davis Havard, Jack Havard, Olivia Wilson, and Ruston Slaughter. She is also survived by nephew Alan Ray Escher and niece Diana Lee Garland, along with numerous others. She retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty years. She enjoyed being a part of the Tuesday night Bowling League in Baton Rouge for 40 years, going to dinner with her supper club, watching the Tigers play and decorating for every holiday. Getting together with family and friends came first on GrandClaire's list, and of course doing whatever the "the boys" wanted. Pallbearers will be Cody Escher, Davis Havard, Jack Havard, Kenny Havard, Jody Smith, and Brennon Moon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Ritchie, Wayne Anderson, Addison Dwyer, Bill Parkerson, John Emory Walker, and Jarrod Standridge. Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Charlet Funeral Home. Inc. in Zachary from 12pm until service at 2pm. Burial will be in Grace Episcopal Cemetery, St. Francisville.
