In loving memory of Clara Ann Parker.
On June 5, 2024, the world lost a truly remarkable soul as Clara Ann Parker passed away at Peak Resources in Cherryville, North Carolina. Clara was born on June 5, 1942, in Catawba County, North Carolina, which happened to be her day of departure to join her Lord and Savior.
Clara's journey on this earth was defined by her as a caregiver for her family and friends. Her compassionate nature and selfless dedication brought comfort and support to those around her. Clara's career as a caregiver was not merely a job but a calling that she embraced wholeheartedly.
Known for her vibrant personality, Clara was a fun-loving church lady who found joy in the company of others. She cherished the bonds she shared with people and always had a kind word or warm smile to offer. Her presence radiated light and warmth wherever she went. Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Evan Carlo Parker and Hettie Mae Smith Parker; her siblings, Margaret Evelyn Parker, Samuel Parker, Carol Floyd Parker, Bobby Lee Parker, Helen Parker Smith and Joyce Parker Smith.
Clara will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her surviving family and friends. Among them are her brother Farrell Glenn Parker (Robin), sisters Mary Alice Travis and Gladys P Brown, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews who adored her dearly. Additionally, Diane Kellough, Clara’s devoted caregiver and friend, stood by her side through thick and thin.
In honoring Clara's life and legacy, family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia, North Carolina. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in the Chapel with Pastor Kevin Kellough officiating. A final farewell will be held during the burial service at Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Vale, North Carolina. Pallbearers will be Grady Brown, Billy Morgan, Austin Long, Chase Long and Tim Ledford.
As we mourn the loss of Clara Ann Parker, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her. May her spirit continue to shine bright in our hearts forevermore. Rest in peace, dear Clara.
