Clara Louise Chowansky

Clara Louise Chowansky, 90, of The Villages, Fl, formerly of Slatington, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice. She was the wife of the late Leonard Chowansky, who passed away in 2023. Born in Ringtown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Horn and Florence (Breinich) Yoder. Louise worked many years for Western Electric as a chip inspector. She was a faithful member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan Mann of Slatington; son, Gary Chowansky of The Villages, Fl; grandchildren, Jason, Jared, Allix; great-grandchildren, Leo, Oliver, Cooper; half-sister, Mary Ann Luckenbill; half-brother, Harry Horn. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Horn, and half-brothers, Robert and David Horn.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington, with Rev. Kris P. Snyder officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 to 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Neffs Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Louise’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o the funeral home.
