Clara Earllene Register, 63, of Fort Gratiot, a beacon of kindness and creativity, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. Born on July 21, 1962, in
Port Huron, Michigan, Clara's life was a tapestry woven with love, care, and a flair for the artistic, which she shared generously with everyone around her.
Clara's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her three daughters, Jolene Register (Bob Hinkle), Angela Paulus (Christopher Banyash), and Kristina (Tim) Kimmel; her son, Michael Lemanski; grandchildren, Bobbie-Jo, Joyce, Jole, Zoe, Tj, KaySea, Nathanial, Talia, and Razia; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Issac, and Jonah; siblings, Sharon Fetterman, Dene Wright (Bill Hill), Allanna (Carl) Hinkley, Lottie (Scott) Daggett, and Bill (Karen) Wright; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Earllene Wright; father, Nathanial Wright (and his left leg); and nephew, Billy Wright.
She was a familiar face at Farmer Jacks grocery store, where she served the community for many years. In her younger days, she brought smiles to customers at Big Boy and was known for her reliability and hard work on her paper route. Clara's industrious nature led her to embrace many odd jobs, from babysitting to caring for her nieces and nephews, always with a helping hand extended.
Her interests were a reflection of her loving soul. Clara found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, nurturing her garden, and expressing her creativity through crochet, cake decorating, and crafting. Each piece she created was a token of her love, often made especially for those she cherished. She loved music. Being musically inclined, she expressed herself with her family by teaching them the values of music. Clara's ability to drop anything to lend a helping hand was a testament to her selfless nature.
Describing Clara as loving, kind, and creative only begins to capture the essence of her character. She was a woman who embodied these traits in every action and every interaction. Her warm spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
As we say goodbye to Clara Register, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion, a life that touched so many others in profound and beautiful ways. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her love will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives. Clara's story is one of unwavering love and the enduring power of family and friendship. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of kindness will live on through the lives she has shaped, "Take 'er light, Bugger".
A celebration of Clara's life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball Twp., Michigan 48074, with visiting starting at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Brian Ake will officiate. A luncheon will follow.
