Clara Jean Strause, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at a local nursing home in George West, following an extended illness. She was born on November 29, 1944 to Clarice W. "Cak" Wood Sr and Florence May Cranfill Wood in Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas. She worked for the 1st National Bank of George West for many years. She was an active member of the Oakville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronnie Strause, her daughter Sheena Strause and her 2 brothers Raymond Wood and G.R. "Red" Wood.
She is surviced by one sister Lois Shannon of Three Rivers and one brother C.W. "Bugs" Wood Jr and his wife Joyce (Ray) Wood. She was blessed with one granddaughter Emily (Ian) Sullivan which are stationed in Alaska along with great-granddaughter Sylvie. She had many nieces and nephews that love and will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10 AM, and Funeral Service will be at 11 AM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers. Burial will follow at the Simmons Cemetery. Pallbearers are Willie Shannon, Russell Wood, Jeff Atkinson, Clay Atkinson, Stacey Little, Wayne Baldwin and Ronnie Wood.
