Clara Jean Wilson Williams, born on May 24, 1942, in Bay Springs, Mississippi, lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, and love. In 1968, she married LTC (Ret.) Clinton L. Williams Jr., and together they built a beautiful family. Throughout their many military assignments, Clara worked a variety of jobs, often moving every two to three years while ensuring her family remained supported and cared for.
She was a talented painter, a skilled seamstress, played the piano, and a master of any craft she set her hands to. She was heavily involved in the Indiana Bulldog Club by raising English Bulldogs and showing them in dog shows around the Midwest.
After eventually settling in Indianapolis, Indiana, Clara worked as the registered dietitian at Larue Carter Children's Hospital. Together with her husband, Clint, they continued her commitment to helping others by creating the Larue Carter Children's Christmas Fund, which provided the only Christmas celebration for the inpatient children. This nonprofit foundation has continued its mission for over 30 years.
While working full-time, she also achieved her doctorate in nutrition-an accomplishment that reflected her passion for learning.
Clara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clinton L. Williams Jr.; her father, James Ernest Wilson; and her mother, Clara Musgrove Wilson. She leaves behind three children-Tracy Hastings (Justin), Terri Palmer, and Don Williams-along with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her very much.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis.
