Clarence H. Pluss
Age 82, of Albany passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at his family home where he was raised. He was born on June 17, 1940 in Monroe, the son of Herman and Irene (Rhyner) Pluss. He attended Smiley country school and graduated from Albany High School in 1959. Clarence married Patricia Crouch on September 17, 1961 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. Clarence worked the one job he truly enjoyed and loved.dairy farming and working the family land. He was actively working outside until the last seven months until his body wouldn't allow it. He was a faithful and active member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, where he served on the consistory board for 17 years (11 of those consecutive).
Clarence is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Pluss, a resident of New Glarus Home; son, Paul, of Albany; daughter, Barbara (Chris Hageman) of Mt. Horeb; sisters-in-law, Jane Miller of Peoria, IL, Mary Green of Gays Mills, WI; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Nathan Crouch; mother-in-law, Clara Crouch Pluss; brother, John; and nephews, Allen and Roger Pluss.
Memorial services are pending for June at Zwingli United Church of Christ.
The family would like to thank Harvey Disch Jr. for helping care for Clarence in his last few months and the St. Croix Hospice team.
