Patricia A. Pluss, age 83 of Albany, passed away on January 29, 2024, at the New Glarus Home with her family beside her. She was born March 17, 1940 on St. Patrick's Day (Palm Sunday) in Monroe, the eldest daughter of Nathan and Clara (Zentner) Crouch. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1958. Patricia married Clarence Pluss on September 17, 1961 at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Monroe. They were married 61 years working together on the family Dairy farm near Albany.
Pat was a faithful and active member of Zwingli U.C.C. of Monticello. Pat was never a talker, but she loved writing letters and sending cards to fellow church members and friends through Zwingli's Sunshine Team. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed long drives and walking on the hill with her miniature dachshund, Amos. Pat was a wonderful baker, and her pies and snickerdoodle cookies were the best.
Patricia is survived by her son, Paul, of Albany; daughter Barbara (Chris Hageman) of Mt. Horeb; sisters, Jane Miller of Peoria, IL., Mary Green, of Gays Mills, WI; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence (04/24/23); in-laws Herman & Irene Pluss; brothers-in-laws, John Pluss, Joe Green, Bill Miller; and nephews, Allen and Roger Pluss.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello with Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, with a luncheon to follow in Zwingli's fellowship hall. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial fund will be established in Pat's name for Zwingli U.C.C. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
The family would like to thank the staff at the New Glarus Home, the nurses of Agrace Hospice, and The SSM Monroe Palliative care team for all their assistance.
