Clarence Raymond "Ray" Riffle, 72, of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born in Clarksburg on October 2, 1950, a son of the late Robert Lee Riffle and Flora Louise (Wilson) Witt, who survives in Bridgeport.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sara (Lutton) Riffle, whom he married May 12, 2007.
Also surviving are his three children, Dr. Reene (Riffle) McGinnis and her husband Nick of Morgantown; Helen Riffle of New York, NY; and Edward Riffle and his wife Kimberly of Fairhope, AL; and his stepchildren, Suzanne Howard of Port St. Lucie, FL; James (Robbie) Williamson and his companion Chyenne Nelson of Huntington; and Taylor Williamson of Columbus, OH. His grandchildren whom he dearly loved, James, Charlie, Madeline, Sidney, Kaden, Brinkley and Remi; his brother, James R. "Bob" Riffle of Jane Lew; Howard "Rick" Riffle and his wife Ethel of Bridgeport; Jeff Riffle and his wife Wanda of Flemington; two sisters, Susan Steadman and her husband Dick of Bridgeport; and Cindy Sayre and her husband Rusty of Flemington; and several nieces and nephews complete his family.
Also surviving are his good friends Janet Riffle of Bridgeport and Nicole Hollier of Baton Rouge, LA.
Ray was a graduate of Flemington High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. He worked at the glass factory, was the owner of Ray's Plumbing and Heating in Nutter Fort; and also taught at the Taylor County Trade Center. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had previously refereed football and baseball.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 1 – 6 p.m., where services will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Gary Devart presiding. Interment will be held at a later date in West Virginia National Cemetery.
