Clarice Madeline Dawn entered into this world on December 5, 1988, in Kansas City, KS,
to the union of Patrick Angelo Jr. and Jolynn Angelo. She was third of six children born
to this union. Surrounded by loved ones, Clarice received her wings in the early morning
hours of January 24, 2025, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO.
Clarice declared her devotion to Christ at a young age. She openly acknowledged her
love for Christ but did not have a church home.
Clarice received her education in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School System. She
graduated from F.L. Schlagle High School, where she excelled academically in most
subjects, including Technology and Art. She competed in Debate and was successful in
winning most of her matches. Clarice attended High Tech Institute, where she earned
an Associate's Degree in Massage Therapy. She also studied at the Kansas City, Kansas
Community College, where she had not declared her major, but made the Dean's List
while completing general core studies. Clarice worked as a lifeguard with the YMCA in
her younger years. She also worked in Customer Service with CVS and T-Mobile. She
was employed with DST for the past 8 years and worked as a Computer Data Analyst
until the time of her passing. Clarice was smart and strived for excellence in everything
that she did. She enjoyed writing, drawing, music, swimming, traveling and most of all
spending time with family. She was never afraid to try new things.
Clarice is remembered for her love of family, intelligence, big & beautiful smile, sense of
humor, fun-loving attitude, sharp tongue (if you took her there) and being a strong
woman. She was always supportive of those she loved. Clarice married the love of her
life in Andrew Dawn. Their love for each other was contagious! Anyone in their orbit
could sense the love that radiated between them. Andrew supported Clarice, without
conditions, in what became the hardest year of her life. His commitment to their vow
before God is indisputable. No children were born to this union, but they raised Leonia,
Clarice's daughter from a previous relationship, together, in a loving home.
Clarice was preceded in death by her mother, Jolynn Angelo her beloved maternal
grandmother, Blanchola Thurmond, who she affectionately called "Madea".
Clarice is fondly remembered by: Her devoted, loving husband, Andrew Dawn of Kansas
City, MO; daughter, Leonia Garrett, of Kansas City, MO; father, Patrick Angelo Jr, Kansas
City, KS; Siblings: sister, Blanch Angelo, of Parkville, MO; brother, Patrick Angelo III
(Tisha), of Kansas City, KS; sister, Nina Angelo of Kansas City, Ks; sister, Tanya Box
